'October Second Seven' Album
1. Tucked Into Dreams (5:33) - This one is just a vamp on Am, with some cave yelling in the background.
2. Dirt (4:07) - This could be the same doctor from ‘The Doctor Is In’, who knows. This one started from a Dm chord shape up and down the neck. Evolved into another tale of depravity.
3. Silverfish, SD (4:33) - I tuned down to open C# and after messing around a bit came up with the main part on this. Fun to force myself to get familiar with slide guitar for the first time in my life. My buddy Chench helped inspire the lyrics with a trip out west from Chicago through SD. Even added some djembe and tambourine on this one.
4. Borrowed Time (4:18) - This one had a completely different main riff originally. Turned out I had just covered a Vulfpeck song. After re-writing the main part, tried my hand at harmonizing a lead lick, I like how it turned out. Never got around to adding lyrics but they just didn’t come to me.
5. Why Ya Gotta Do Me Wrong (4:29) - A bit inspired by Gogol Bordello, this is a tale of a broken heart and a bit of denial.
6. He Walks (3:24) - A bit of a 70’s metal throwback, simple and about the Occult. Also totally stole from Primus’ ‘Eclectic Electric’ for the 2nd part.
7. Credits (1:45) - This is obviously just a list of who paid me to make this album……when making the music it just sounded to me like the tune you’d hear at the end of a show so I made up some sponsors and read them in my best TV sponsor voice.
