1. In the Dead of the Desert (6:29) - This one was another Tom Waits inspired song, with some Waits-y beat-boxing, and then some Melvins style lyrics - real phrases but nothing that makes sense. Fun to make. From Feb ‘23.

2. Cat Scratch (Fuck Me) (2:04) - My buddy turned me onto The Chats, and their song “Smoko” recently. While I was finishing “In the Dead of the Desert” my cat scratched my eye and I decided to write a punk rock song for the first time in my life about that. Written and recorded in 30 mins. One take for everything (which is why it’s sloppy, heh). From Feb ‘23

3. Mindset (4:20) - This one was fun to make. Really unlike anything I’ve done I think. Sort of an Afrobeat type style, but I didn’t start out with that in mind. Either way, fun for me. From Feb ‘23.

4. Buckingham Green (Ween) (5:33) - I’m not sure I’ve done this song justice, but it’s one of my favorite Ween songs and very fun to play on guitar. I tried to emulate a bit from their 1992 Live at the Cat’s Cradle album version with the low parts but of course tried some of my own weirdness too. From Feb ‘23.

5. Stultzgaard Inn (3:24) - While I was making Buckingham Green, I was messing around on the keyboard looking for a nice sound to add, and started playing this which was on a harp sound bank. This is just an improvisation, not really a song, but I like it. From Feb ‘23.

6. The Darkening (5:29) - This one started as what was going to be an into part for another song, but developed into its own thing. Felt a bit like Pink Floyd on this one, and fun to make for sure. From March ‘23.

7. Expand My Threshold (5:26) - This one is trying to be a Tool song, but didn’t quite come out how I wanted. I revised a few times and may still revise but here it is.

8. Thank You Boys! (Jane’s Addiction) (2:36) - A jazzy little interlude in the Nothing’s Shocking album, but something I’ve always liked. Cool to learn and play some jazz-y chords. From March ‘23.
