'October 222' Album

by Tyler Brownfield

1. Inscription (5:56) - This one was pretty fun to make. It’s one that feels like there are enough changes, even though everything’s pretty simple. Kind of a Sabbath feel. Was a fun one to throw down on the drums.

2. The Path of Fate (4:00) - I was burned out from the first night/first song, and wanted an ‘easy’ one. This ended up as a chill vibe with plenty of space and some ominous spoken word-type words.

3. Mickey and Aaron (3:05) - This doesn’t really have anything to do with Ween (whose members’ real names are the title), but it’s where I landed with the names. A story song, with that Gogol feel, but this time in C#m instead of Am…..

4. Black Lung (2:42) - I had this as a title/topic of a song previously, and the day of spent time working on another one that didn’t yet come to fruition. A bit of a Tom Waits feel was what I was going for, with the percussion and particularly the guitar solo. Tried to bring a Marc Ribot feel to it.

5. Zorhim! (3:15) - Zorhim was a word that was originally a pairing code for an AV system, but I thought was a good name for someone. Tried to bring an eastern flavor to the guitar line and built it from there.

6. Until Then, Hello from the Moon (6:16) - This one is a follow up to the ‘The World Has Moved On’ song from my 2020 album - a spacey song influenced a bit by David Bowie (at least my attempted singing) and a fun one to make. Singing is a work in progress.
